At Victor Valley Community Hospital we take great pride in the relationship we have established in our community as the community hospital that cares. The only non-profit community hospital in the High Desert, VVCH hosts a full calendar of community events that meet the needs of every age group. Meeting our Mission, Vision and Values, VVCH provides health screening fairs; drive-thru flu shot clinics, and vital health information free of charge every year.
Victor Valley Community Hospital concluded its 11th Annual Kids Care Fair the end of July with approximately 800 attendees at the five hour event. At the conclusion of the fair, over 15,000 residents have received access to health information, health screenings, physicals and other services free of charge since 2001. The annual Kids Care Fair is one of the community wellness programs that Victor Valley Community Hospital provides.
Victor Valley Community Hospital with support from the Medical Staff, hospital employees, VVCH Auxiliary, numerous local healthcare professionals, sponsors, exhibitors and community volunteers brings health services free of charge to the community each July. Additions to the 2012 event included San Bernardino County Children’s Network, Provision Rx and Healthy Victorville. The Children’s Network provided attendees information on child abuse prevention and reporting as well as hosting games and prizes for the children. Provision Rx offered prescription cards for families. Healthy Victorville presented information on one of the many healthy living programs aimed at childhood obesity including the Prescription for Play Program.
“The Kids Care Fair is vital to our community because it provides services and health information that many families no longer have access to. Our community partners, employee volunteers and their family members come together for this event and it is truly a rewarding experience to see children receiving the care they need.” says Ed Matthews, Interim CEO of Victor Valley Community Hospital.
At the conclusion of the 11th Annual Kids Care Fair in July, this Community Wellness Program has provided 2,200 physical exams, 3,300 immunizations and over 15,000 attendees since 2001.
